I am a psychedelic artist residing in Fremantle, Western Australia.

 

I have been drawing ever since I was a tiny human, inspired by the wacky 90s cartoons I grew up watching. Although I was always interested in art, my artistic direction really started developing around 15 years ago when I discovered the world of sticker street art. Having a fun medium to work with, finding the sticker art community art online and realising my characters art well-suited to the streets, I became obsessed with stickers and have traded my art with more than 100 sticker artists from around the world. As I suddenly had a reason to draw lots more (stickers going out in the mail / up on the streets means I had to draw more and more!), my style developed rapidly.

Progressing from stickers I began to paint more using different mediums, and also started making decor for doofs and other psychedelic parties. I have always had an interest in psychedelic art, and when I started travelling to more psychedelic festivals interstate and overseas, my interest only grew. I also discovered amazing artists like Chris Dyer, John Speaker, Burgandy Viscosi, and who made me realise that my cartoony style can still fit within the visionary art genre. In 2018 I travelled to Byron Bay and attended an 8-day visionary art workshop hosted by Chris Dyer and Adam Scott Miller, where I learnt invaluable painting techniques to help my art progress to the next level.

Kicks Psychedelic Art is bold, colourful, bright and fun, incorporating elements of sacred geometry and lots of strange cute creatures from my imagination. I love patterns and details, and making the world a more colourful place. Thanks for visiting! Much love, Kicks
